The journal mentions the name Major Logie and as his children are named Sophy and Charley it sounds like Major Logie is the one mentioned hear.
If you have any more information about the family I'd be glad to hear it as I will use some of the transcription in a journal I edit.

Colin Fox
Editor of Wirebird, the journal of the Friends of St Helena.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13395121841691852902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2569604677561537847.post-76238263168637633732017-06-28T11:54:10.293-06:002017-06-28T11:54:10.293-06:00Evening,
I've been following up Alexander Matt...Evening,
I've been following up Alexander Matthias Gordon Logie (and to some extent William Logie), as the former was the husband of Emma Elizabeth James. There is a certificate of baptism for both Alexander and William, signed by the Elders of the Kirk of Speymouth for their admission to the Bombay Army: Alexander's, written in August 1798, states that he was born on the 28 Feb 1781 and William's, written in July 1796, that he was born on the 10th August 1781 (which is tricky - I guess one of the years is wrong). But Alexander died at Surat in 1815, not his father James. Emma Elizabeth drew his pension up to her death in 1840.
Adam Streatfeild-JamesAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15948864588904512810noreply@blogger.com
